Toshiba unveiled several enhancements to its line of Satellite laptops that take advantage of new capabilities in Windows 7.

Two new Toshiba Satellite notebooks will feature touch screens, the Toshiba Satellite U505 Touch and Toshiba Satellite M505 Touch models. In addition, the recently announced ultrathin Toshiba Satellite T100 notebook takes Windows 7 performance a step further, with Fast Sleep-and-Resume functionality so its ready when needed - up and running in seconds.
The Toshiba Satellite M505 Touch notebook will retail for $949.99 USD and the Toshiba Satellite U505 Touch notebook will be priced at $1,049.99 USD.

Apple notebooks will feature graphics from Nvidia, along with aluminum cases and larger touchpads.

Faster graphics with Nvidea chips, new aluminum cases and improved trackpads are some of the features Apple will offer with its new line of notebooks, announced at a press event today.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced changes to the MacBook Pro, MacBook and MacBook Air at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, Calif. All will use a common core graphics chipset, the Nvidia GeForce 9400M. Some of the other changes, like the aluminum cases and upgraded touchpads, won't be featured on all the notebook models.
