Cuba has announced plans to relax real estate regulations in order to attract inward investment from overseas developers in an effort to boost its tourism industry.

Newly revealed plans involve allowing foreign parties to construct attractions including marinas, golf courses and related projects on the island, with the hope of attracting overseas visitors.

Swiss researchers Philippe Masset and Jean-Philippe Weisskopf have a new paper out claiming to demonstrate that if you add wine to a portfolio of financial assets, that decreases your risk, increases your returns, and helps you out (if you care about such things) on the skewness and kurtosis fronts as well. OSLO (Reuters) - Investments of $750 billion could create a "Green New Deal" to revive the world economy and protect the environment, perhaps aided by a tax on oil, the head of the U.N. environment agency said on Thursday.

Achim Steiner said spending should focus on five environmental sectors including improved energy efficiency for buildings and solar or wind power to create jobs, curb poverty and fight climate change.

Stock markets have continued to fall after the collapse of fourth-largest US investment bank, Lehman Brothers, which has filed for bankruptcy protection.
