Verizon Wireless and Samsung Mobile America announced that the Samsung Intensity II mobile phone is available online today and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores in the coming weeks.

The Samsung Intensity 2 is made partly from recycled plastic. The feature-rich Samsung Intensity 2 handset boasts a horizontal slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a digital music player, one-touch access to social networking sites, and a 1.3 megapixel infrared digital camera with night vision. The Samsung Intensity II Smartphone will be available in the colors Deep Gray and Metallic Blue.

Samsung announces the new 12.2 megapixel PL90 digital camera featuring a built-in USB connector, enabling consumers to capture images and connect to a computer on the move without the need for additional wires or cords.

The Samsung PL90s integrated USB connector allows content to be shared with friends and family quickly and easily, with the cameras plug and play capabilities, including the Auto-install intelli-studio software, and instant access to any computer via the USB. In addition, users will never have to worry about running out of power with the Samsung PL90, as the USB connector also allows consumers to charge the battery without a separate power cord.

Samsung Electronics Co plans to introduce tablet computers this quarter based on Google's Android operating system, joining a growing list of firms seeking to challenge Apple's popular iPad.


Global handset vendors and PC makers including Nokia, LG Electronics and Hewlett-Packard Co are moving into the new category of devices, between traditional PCs and smartphones, taking a cue from Apple.

Samsung makes a lot of stuff, including cameras.
In the past, they were actually Pentax clones. At least on the outside they were clones, because Samsung has made sensors for a longer period of time. If you only make clones, you will not be taken very seriously as a camera manufacturer.
