Ricoh releases the new Ricoh G700 digital camera with water and dust resistance for safe and reliable use even in difficult environments such as those encountered in on-site work situations. Successor model to the popular Ricoh G600, the new Ricoh G700 has achieved shock resistance capable of withstanding a 2.0 m drop (1.5 m when wide conversion lens is attached) in Ricoh drop testing carried out based on US Department of Defense standards, and it is also capable of underwater shooting for up to two hours at depths up to 5.0 m. In addition, the Ricoh G700 features newly added chemical resistance to ethanol and hypochlorous acid as well as strengthened security functions such as password-protection.
The Ricoh GXR camera system has raised quite a buzz. The opinions about this new camera system prove to differ a lot. One talks about a brilliant idea, whereas the other approaches it in a more practical way and thinks of the possible hindrances. Other than that, the fact that Ricoh has managed to liven up the at times slightly dull camera market is praise-worthy. The modular system consists primarily of two Ricoh lens/sensor units. However, Ricoh has already indicated that there are possibilities for the Ricoh GXR in addition to lenses. During a Japanese presentation, not only the Ricoh GXR was presented, but also several camera-unit concepts, which raises even more questions.
Ricoh GXR camera system : Ricoh announce the release of the GXR interchangeable unit camera system featuring the world's smallest and lightest digital camera with the ability to change lenses. The new Ricoh GXR is an interchangeable unit camera system in which lenses are changed by using a slide-in mount system to attach camera units to the body. The lens, image sensor, and image processing engine are integrated into the camera units so the body itself does not contain an image sensor.
With world-leading small size and low weight enabling easy carrying, the Ricoh GXR camera system features a highly rigid magnesium alloy body and multiple camera units that can be changed to best fit the scene to be photographed.

OkayTake a Ricoh GR digital camera, make some components with it, sleep on it for a night and come up with a brilliant idea. That is how the new Ricoh GXR can be seen. Leaked information now indeed confirms the existence of a Ricoh system camera. The Ricoh GXR appears to be a standard compact camera in terms of dimensions, but the GXR is truly a system camera.
Ricoh announced the release of a new digital camera, the Ricoh CX2. This new compact camera featuring a high magnification 10.7x (28-300 mm) optical wide-angle zoom lens in a compact camera body only 29.4 mm thick.
The Ricoh CX2 camera is capable of 5 frame/second high-speed continuous shooting of still images with the maximum number of megapixels.
The Ricoh CX2 camera will be available for £299.99 or 349,00 Euro.
CX1 photo gallery : Ricoh enjoys a well-known reputation as an innovative camera manufacturer. And although Ricoh is a small player in the field of compact cameras where heavyweights like Canon, Panasonic and Sony seem to rule, Ricoh still manages to keep its brand in the limelight by introducing inventive image solutions time and time again. This also goes for the Ricoh CX1, a digital camera with a 7.1x wide angle zoom lens (28-200mm) and an incredibly large dynamic range of 12 EV. Additionally, the Ricoh CX1 features a fast CMOS sensor, and the camera is supported by a new Smooth Imagine Engine IV image processor. The Ricoh camera has a number of remarkable functions to offer the creative photographer.
Pre-PMA 2009: Ricoh has launched the CX1, a CMOS-based zoom compact camera. The CX1 puts a 9 megapixel CMOS sensor in a R10-like body offering a 28-200mm equivalent zoom range but increasing the screen resolution to 920,000 dots (unusually good for a compact camera). The new sensor allows high-speed continuous shooting (up to 120 frames per second at 640x480 pixel resolution), and has a series of additional technologies to boost dynamic range. The first is a multiple exposure mode that effectively produces in-camera HDR images, the second is a system that uses red and blue data to calculate a green value when the green channel over-exposes.
