Sunday nights Oscarcast will be different from all other Oscarcasts.

To speed things up, there will be no live performances of the best-song nominees, no honorary awards and no really, they promise no long-winded speeches.

To liven things up, there will be more appearances by tween-friendly presenters, a pair of comical hosts and 10 nominees for best picture, a few of them enormous mainstream hits.

The Oscars 2010 will be upon us this coming Sunday March 7, and if youre wondering where you can find a full nominations list, wonder no more. The 82nd Academy Awards will take place at the Kodak Theatre presented by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. Directors, actors, writers and other professionals in the industry will all be receiving the coveted awards.

AS THE nominees take to the red carpet on Sunday their minds will be on one thing; taking home the little gold statue, whilst ours will be on something different: their dresses.

Throughout the years, fashion watchers have been variously delighted and appalled by the gowns taking to the stage on the biggest night of the awards season, so to avoid sartorial slip ups, we have cast an eye over the nominees and the latest designer collections to give them some kindly advice for what could be the biggest night of their life.

There could be plenty of fresh faces mixed in with the Hollywood veterans at next year's Academy Awards as the buzz builds for the 2010 Oscars.

Newcomers Carrie Mulligan ("An Education"), Jeremy Renner ("The Hurt Locker"), Gabourey Sidibe ("Precious") and Christoph Waltz ("Inglourious Basterds") have all been cited for possible acting nods.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - In a year full of surprise hits without stars, "District 9" stands out as an even more unlikely box office champion than the crowd-pleasing comedy "The Hangover" or the supernatural thriller "Paranormal Activity."

The low budget production (it cost an estimated $30 million) with a cast of unknowns directed by another unknown (Neill Blomkamp) bucked conventional Hollywood wisdom by proudly wearing its message on its alien sleeve and slyly combining an apartheid allegory with a good dose of action.

It will be business as usual on Feb 22, the biggest night of the U.S. film industry when it pays tribute to its finest actors, directors, producers and writers.
