Nikon is extending its Dxxxx series with a new DSLR camera, the Nikon D7000. This is part of a nice series of cameras, the D3100, D5000 and now also the Nikon D7000. A Nikon D9000 might just be the next model The new Nikon D7000 is a whole new DSLR camera generation and falls between the Nikon D5000 and the D90, at least in terms of pricing. The D90 is still part of the picture, at least until it gets a successor (the D9000?). This Nikon DSLR is a camera aimed at the serious amateur photographer and offers a full package of camera-settings for creative photography as well as videography, as the Nikon D7000 supports Full HD 1080p video.
The Nikon D7000 is official. And I do think its a category crusher. Its a 16-megapixel DX-format digital SLR with 1080p HD video and full-time continuous auto focus. It uses Nikons latest EXPEED 2 image processing for, low-light ability never before seen in a DX-format (APS-C) camera. Adding to the performance, the D7000 also has a brand new 39-point auto focus system, a new 2,016-pixel RGB 3D Matrix Metering System and a 6 frames per second burst rate for up to 100 frames! Nikon obviously means business with this camera. Like the D90, it looks like the D7000 could be the new crop-sensor / prosumer benchmark camera.
The Nikon D90 is Nikons latest mid-range digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera and the worlds first DSLR to offer high-definition video capture. The D90s 12-megapixel APS-sized CMOS sensor also ups the high-ISO ante with very low noise up to and in some situations, beyond ISO 800.
The D90 is much more than a replacement for its predecessor, the D80. It also inherits many upgraded features from its big brother, the D300, making the D90 a formidable contender in the DSLR arena. Retailing at $999.95 (body only) the D90 is competitively priced given its rich set of features and its quite a bargain when compared to the D300 or Canons EOS 50D digital SLR.
