In the past, camera manufacturers like Fujifilm, Pentax, etc. dominated the international photo business. It was virtually unthinkable that electronic manufacturers could make the leap and claim a market share. However, the digital picture era changed all of this. Various camera brands experienced great difficulty in making the switch from analogue to digital, with Kodak being the biggest example. Pentax is also one of the manufacturers that seems unable to claim a significant market share.
