(NAPSI)-Recent research shows that setting house rules for teen drivers could help them steer clear of car crashes when it's done constructively.

In fact, teens who say their parents establish rules and pay attention to their activities in a helpful, supportive way are half as likely to be in a crash. According to research from The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and State Farm®, it's important for parents to communicate with teens that the rules are in place to keep them safe--not in order to control them.

Micron Technology introduced the RealSSD C300 solid-state drive (SSD), the fastest Micron SSD for notebook and desktop personal computers (PCs).

The Micron RealSSD C300 drive is the first to leverage the SATA 6Gb/s interface, providing read speeds of up to 355 megabytes per second (MB/s) and write speeds of up to 215MB/s. The RealSSD C300 drive is the first to use ONFI 2.1 high-speed synchronous NAND.
Leveraging Microns industry-leading 34-nanometer (nm) multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash memory, Microns RealSSD C300 drive - available in 128 gigabyte (GB) and 256GB capacities - is now sampling in limited quantities. The Micron SSD drives will be available in 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch form factors.

Prices on solid-state drives are dropping, and operating systems (particularly Windows 7) are beginning to take advantage of the potential higher speeds of SSDs, so it's a good time to consider slapping one in your computer.

Why Switch?

Though SSDs tend to be faster overall than hard-disk drives, their speed advantage doesn't hold across the board. Normally an SSD reads data at a much quicker rate than an HDD does (Intel claims that a typical HDD takes 4000 microseconds to access your data, versus the advertised 65 ms of the company's 160GB X25-M SSD model); but an SSD's write speeds may be slower than those of a 5400-rpm HDD.
