Three months ago, Canon introduced a new series of digital compact cameras, including the 12.1 megapixel Canon PowerShot SX230 HS. Despite the new PowerShot SX230 HS`s compact format, the digital camera houses a powerful 14x optical zoom with a 28mm wide-angle lens.

Thanks to Canon`s HS System, a high image quality is possible under all shooting circumstances.
By combining the 12 Megapixel CMOS sensor with the DIGIC 4 image processor, there is less noise and a greater dynamic range. The result is clear, natural colors, even with little light.

Fierce competition is expected to start again with the launch of the Canon EOS 1100D digital SLR camera.
The battle for market share of entry-level DSLR cameras will continue with a new generation of DSLRs. Not so long ago on, Canon and Nikon were king in the entry-level DSLR market, but competition has awakened. Competition is to be expected, but with the new 1100D Canon seems to believe they will have everything under control. The Canon 1100D builds on the success of it former generations.
The result is a powerful DSLR combination with a low price tag. The first test photos are made with a Canon 1100D BETA test camera. These Canon 1100D BETA pictures cannot be judged as final quality photos.

The Canon PowerShot SX130 IS camera follows up the SX120 IS megazoom camera. It is a logical successor and lays in the trend of the Canon PowerShot megazoom cameras.

The new Canon SX130IS is not very surprising; it is introduced with improved functions. The effective image resolution has increased to 12 Megapixels and the zoom range has also increased with 12x and wider angle (28mm instead of 36mm in the SX120 IS). The Canon PowerShot SX130 IS body has had a bit of restyling, but still really resembles its predecessor.
