A Florida renewable energy provider plans to build a new plant in Baltimore.

New Generation Biofuels Holdings Inc., of Lake Mary, said Sept. 16 that it has signed a deal to construct a new biofuel manufacturing facility at the Port of Baltimore by first quarter 2009.

The 25 million-gallons-per-year facility could begin producing the renewable fuel shortly thereafter. It would market the biofuel to businesses.
